Note:  These colors will change slightly when applied to paper stocks other than white.

When the binder housing your index is 1-1/2" or larger in capacity, or receiving daily usage, reinforcing at the binding edge of the index sheet is strongly recommended.  Mylar polyester film is the toughest of all clear reinforcing materials.  Mylar, applied to the binding side the length of the sheet, provides maximum tear resistance.  Adding .002" or less to the thickness of the sheet.  Mylar is less bulky than other reinforcing materials.  The long-wearing qualities of reinforcing with Mylar offer long run economy by eliminating costly replacement of torn index pages.

Note:  Reinforcing of any type takes up extra space in the binder.  Before specifying reinforcement, make sure the binder or bound booklet has sufficient capacity to accommodate the planned bulk.

Selection of Paper Stock

The paper stock you use for your index sheets should be tough and durable with a high resistance to tearing.  We offer a variety of index stocks in addition to our standard 90# white thickness and can assist you in choosing the paper stock best suited for your needs.  Standard Index Tab sheet sizes available are 11" x 8-1/2", 8-1/2" x 5-1/2 (half-sheet size)" and

14" x 8-1/2" (legal size).

Tab copy should be kept to a minimum.  Elimination of unnecessary words, letters and punctuation allows the use of larger copy and more legible type styles.  We exercise extreme care to ensure that your copy fits properly within the designated tab area.
